Re-Imagined Radio

Re-Imagined Radio is a research project led by John F. Barber that considers how radio dramas and other programs from the so-called "Golden Age of Radio" (1930s-1950s) were originally created, communicated, and consumed as a form of storytelling, and how they might be re-imagined as live literary-media art and performance for contemporary audiences. This website provides information about these performances and the research inquiries behind them. Another, connected, website, Radio Nouspace, an experimental online radio station, provides a virtual listening gallery for exemplary examples of radio drama and more. LEARN more.

Kiggins Theatre — 1011 Main Street, Vancouver, Washington 98660
Kiggins Theatre, a single-screen movie theatre in the heart of Vancouver's Art District, is independently minded, community focused. Built in the Art Deco style, the theatre, which opened 24 April 1936, is named for John P. Kiggins, a former Vancouver mayor. The Kiggins Theatre neon sign is original, as are some of the interior lighting fixtures. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2012. Kiggins Theatre is a wonderful place to enjoy live radio performances.
